The program runs from 10:30 a.m. to noon nearly every Sunday from September through May. We serve children from birth through 8th grade. We focus on the Humanist ideals of living life ethically and joyfully. We learn about world religions in an informational way so that we can better understand and appreciate others. If you would like to speak to the director about details of our programming, please call the office at 847-677-3334 or send an email to This email address is being protected from spambots.  From the Director

Katherine Ross

Welcome to all our guests and returning families for the Golden Rule Sunday School! As usual, lots of fun is in store. Throughout this year we are going to identify and practice our Ethical Humanist values with many activities, projects and crafts.

We start every month by decorating and packing sack lunches for our friends at the Lincoln Park Community Shelter. Sunday School families donate the supplies and the kids pack up the lunches. The kids have determined that our spring fundraising activities will benefit Refugee One efforts in the Chicagoland area. For this month’s fundraiser we are selling tickets to a Pancake Breakfast we will be serving on March 26 beginning at 9:30 am. Don’t miss it!

—see you in Sunday School!

In our children's educational program, the Golden Rule Sunday School, our young people are encouraged:
  • to respect themselves and others
  • to value education
  • to celebrate the arts
  • to think critically and independently
  • to investigate and discover
  • to have compassion
  • and to make ethical choices in their daily lives.

They experience this in an atmosphere of love and mutual support, with the help of caring adults, using stories, discussion, arts, and crafts.
